Why did a "Batgirl & Spoiler" monthly never happen?

I would pay $6 an issue for this series. Or any series that featured these two characters. With both of them as Batgirl or as Batgirl and Spoiler.

Them being together in a book makes them look weaker together. The redundancy of Batman's underlings.

I think I know what happened there. Back then everyone was like "Hey! No Spoilers!" and so DC listened and didn't print the series because, you know........no spoilers.......*cricket chirp*

If Dixon had his way, Cass would have been a mainstay in his 'Batman & the Outsiders' ongoing.

Dixon really did the best job with her post OYL. I consider that run to be essential Cass reading anyway. It basically transforms into her own series for those last four issues.
