That's true. Cecilia Reyes is also Black. So why were they whitewashed?

According to the director, representation with race isn't important but their nationality and ethnicity is. It's the usual "I don't see color" privilege BS.

Pink skin, green eyes and bone straight pink hair smh. I'm not even surprised people forget these characters are black.

Aside from Eyeboy, a lot of characters from that run faded out.

Agreed. I'd love to see how she interacts with Krakoa.

    Kinda Random Rant:
That aside I druged through episodes of The Gifted to get to the see the black villainess And not only was Sunspot us once again not fvckin black, They wasted Jsmie Chung(?) As you can see in LoveCraft Country, But it had a minority Mutants among the cast but focused on the 2 blonde Nazi kids...

I hope future adaptations will be more conscious of these things. I don't want characters like Storm to be whitewashed.

And I don't think anyone should be questioning a character's blackness!

    Saladin Ahmed didn't forget

And props to Javier Rodríguez for being able to draw pink skin, green eyes character and instantly you can tell what race she is with one look. And this is relevant to this topic because Kwannon is clearly Asian, Betsy is twin of Brian Captain Britain. And for some reason it hard to tell them apart.

When the answer is always zero its no longer logical to keep asking the question

The director was a racist. He and Fox were stuck in the 1980s so the New Mutants became a typical white teen horror film. No offense.

That's too bad. This is a pretty diverse team in the comics.

And why do people still care about the 80s so much?
