First, people need to stop with spoilers in the title for a movie out less than a week. Just write "SPOILER INSIDE for GvK versus Ghidorah" or something in the title.

Close fight. I guess that if Ghidorah stays airborne and just blasts out blasts, he'd eventually win. Mechagodzilla obviously doesn't heal, and Ghidorah has a pretty solid healing factor. So in a battle of attrition, Ghidorah should take it. Ghidorah basically killed Zilla, and Mecha KO'd Zilla and would have killed him had Kong not stepped up.

I'm leaning towards King Ghidorah for the same reasons as big_adventure said. If MG could fly, then it would be more even to me

It’s difficult to say, really. MechaGodzilla is better suited to kill Titans but King Ghidorah is overall more powerful. Ordinarily, I’d say something like, “Both fought Godzilla, so let’s see who fared better!” Only it’s not that simple. By the time MechaGodzilla showed up in Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla was exhausted from his fights with Kong and blasting a hole into the Hollow Earth. MechaGodzilla not only completely dominated a tired Godzilla, he was winning against Godzilla and Kong. And I think the mere fact MechaGodzilla proved too much for Godzilla and Kong, even though neither were at full strength, highly suggests the Apex Titan is powerful enough to beat a fully-rested Godzilla one-on-one.

For starters, MechaGodzilla is powered by an energy source that rivals Godzilla’s own. At 40% power, MechaGodzilla bisected a giant Skullcrawler in half. At full power, it blasted a hole through a mountainside, won a beam war against Godzilla’s iconic Atomic Breath, and it left a severe burn on Godzilla’s chest. This is most impressive considering Godzilla is durable enough to withstand point-blank nukes.

Weakened or not, MechaGodzilla effortlessly hurled Godzilla’s 99,000-ton bulk like it was a toy. He delivered electrified strikes that seemed to have a worse effect on Godzilla than Ghidorah’s gravity beams. Even MG’s missiles proved effective. Also, MechaGodzilla’s rockets give him an edge in close quarters combat; in one particular scene, Godzilla and MechaGodzilla were charging each other, and MG’s rockets propelled him swiftly to the side, allowing him to flank Godzilla.

Then there’s King Ghidorah. Near the end of KOTM, the three-headed monster had Godzilla on the ropes. Godzilla being supercharged at the time makes Ghidorah even more impressive. Now Ghidorah had fed off the Boston electrical grid, which gave him a much-needed power-up in order to compete, but he nonetheless proved too much for Godzilla to handle.

So, MechaGodzilla has what it takes to throw Ghidorah around, maybe even overpower him a few times. However, I sincerely doubt MechaGodzilla, even with its devastating heat ray, can put Ghidorah down for the count. But can Ghidorah decommission MechaGodzilla?

MechaGodzilla attacks with the very thing Ghidorah finds delicious: energy. Electricity is literally surging through MechaGodzilla’s mechanical veins, which means there’s a chance Ghidorah might siphon the robot dry of power. Considering Ghidorah feeds off different types of energy (e.g., radiation from Rodan’s volcano, Godzilla’s power, and electricity), I think it’s a safe bet the space hydra can do something similar. Easier said than done, of course.

Finally, we come to Ghidorah’s Calling Card: The Ghidorah Call. MechaGodzilla is psionically controlled by one of Ghidorah’s disembodied heads (the one Godzilla ripped off in KOTM), which technically makes him the fourth Ghidorah head. Factor in how Ghidorah’s Call persuaded dozens of Titans to wreck the world*, there’s a big chance King Ghidorah wins this by telling MechaGodzilla to stand down. Then they have a big happy family reunion.

Leaning King Ghidorah, but it's real friggin' close.

*I’m sure Ghidorah’s Call to the other Titans went something like…

Ghidorah: “Do what I say and die.”

Titans: “Or… Do what I say or die is what you meant to say, right?”

    Ghidorah: “Do it.”

I agree with Tomzilla. Sometimes its a matter of Rock, Paper, Scissors when you look at these Kaiju. If I had to pick a Monster to take on Mecha Godzilla, I'd use a MUTO for its EMP attack.

Also going to echo what others said here, King Ghidorah vs Mecha Godzilla is going to be close.

    Ghidorah

    - strong enough to lift Godzilla into the sky at high altitudes
    - generate apocalyptic storms
    - able to absorb power sources
    - regeneration
    - three angry heads with impressive gravity beam attacks.
    - durable to recover from Godzilla's Atomic Fire Attacks and the Oxygen Destroyer had little if any effect on it.

Also, when Ghirodah was discovered it was because it was generating its own electromagnetic pulses (but we'll exclude that since it wasn't used as an attack)

    Mecha Godzilla
    - It can move fast in combat
    - Strong enough where it had no problems lifting Godzilla like a child and thrashing him all over the city
    - Weapons: Both Long and Close Range. Its primary laser weapon was impressive and it also has energy drills and punches.
    - Does great in close combat, almost showing martial skills. It has Godzilla's Power and Kong's Reflexes
    - Able to handle multiple opponents
    - Ghidorah has impressive durability but Mecha Godzilla won't slow down or get tired.

Going to lean towards Ghidorah for its power, specialties, and its regeneration.
