that top 8 would make a hell of a book, maybe have some other character to round out the roster but make the top 8 the core of the title and you can take my money, well tbh IF it is Kent Nelson Dr. Fate and pre Earth-2 revisioned Alan. Scripted by Thomas written by Johns.

Of the members who made it to this final poll, the ones who were also pictured here in a new Justice Society of America appear to be:* The Flash (Jay Garrick)But who knows which version of "Doctor Fate" that is.

* Hourman II (Rick Tyler) {I don't think that's Rex}
* Mr. Terrific (Michael Holt)

Nah, don't even say that out loud then the PTB will think they accomplished something. The real Alan was always the man, Jay was just lucky that Barry/Wally kept him more "current" via more appearances in the prime Flash title than Hal/John/whomever kept Alan top of mind by showcasing him in the main GL book over the decades. What is impressive is Kent Nelson's Dr Fate's high status he doesn't even have a modern age standard bearer to keep him top of mind, though DC does often use him for magical titles ala JLA Dark.
I voted for them all. I love the JSA more than any other team in comics.

With Power Girl moving up in the vote count the way she has recently, will she soon have more votes than Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson)?
What about Mr. Terrific (Michael Holt)?Will he be able to catch up to or even pass Doctor Fate's vote total?
And Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore) is starting to lag behind in votes . . .
Just dropped in the 20th vote for Wes Dodds! Gotta love him! Along with a few other popular characters.
One of my favorite characters who's not on this list is the Earth 2 Superman. I don't know how many issues Superman was in during the actual Golden Age, but he was a member of the team in a handful of stories from the '70s revival of "All-Star Comics" - or was that the "Super Squad"? Frankly, I don't think there's much difference, haha! Anyway, I really appreciate how Giffen et al rewrote the Earth 2 Superman - previously the exact same as Earth 1 Superman - to be more deliberately a re-imagining of the Golden Age, projected into the then-present day of the late '70s.
"You know the deal, Metropolis. Treat people right or expect a visit from me."
I'm not sure how much Giffen was involved with stories involving the Earth-2 Superman (unless Ambush Bug was involved?), but Kal-L was originally on Poll #2 ("Justice Society Poll II: Who are your favorite members (1961-1999)?") and made it to the second round of voting ("Golden Age through 1998") before losing out.
He also was featured in a fun series in Superman Family back in the day called "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" where he and Lois had gotten married.
