Maybe they are post-human and Krakoa will face a dilemma: should we execute them? But they are just kids... But Moira says they are the menace... but, but, but

Because she thinks their mutants, everyone is assuming their mutants.

Well yeah but then they'd still be able to go in since they have an invite from storm whether or not they're mutants. So why turn her down? We know they're trying to go through the gates, but can't (for whatever reason, human or chimera or otherwise), so they need an invite, which they've gotten but turned down.

They can't cross the gate either way, it doesn't work on the basis of a mutant saying hey come on over, they have procedures for that so again Storm is working on an assumption, not a fact. Even though evidence is piling up saying this kids are not mutants.

Also, focusing on the invite, what happens if they turn out not to be mutants, will she be portrayed in the same manner and still offer the invite? I only say this given how she acted when the Avengers came to deliver the news and try to prevent a tragedy from happening, and i may be alone in this but i did not like the way she acted towards them but then again i have not liked the way she has acted since the run began so i am a bit nias.

On a side note, did anyone else find it weird that Mystique and Danvers were in the same room and not take shots at each other?

Because as soon as they wanted to go home, they would be discovered

If they were invited under the assumption they were mutants but turned out to be humans, it would be a scandal and an embarrassment for everyone involved.

    Would you elaborate on this?

Sure. Well, for starters, it would be embarrassing for whoever let them in that a group of children were able to bypass their security checks and just waltz in. Their security is a joke, but that's more a meta thing than an in-universe thing. They are keeping a very tight lid on a lot of the basic factors of Krakoan daily life, like the Crucible and the resurrections/cloning, so if anyone told them or they found out while there, they would have to mind wipe the lot of them. Most humans who come to Krakoa are escorted around by mutants the entire time, and if they were left on their own to explore it would be a massive embarrassment for their security.

And let's say it was Storm, a member of the Council, who brought them in. For nobody, especially someone of her importance, didn't even consider that these kids were not mutants and didn't do any real double-checking would be a huge embarrassment. Its the kind of thing I could easily see one of the other Council members trying to get her removed from the Council over it. Its such a huge lapse in judgment and huge security risk. Not to mention that since they aren't mutants, they have no diplomatic basis for taking them to another country, and they could potentially be considered kidnapping.

Think of it this way: imagine if a world leader, like the President, went to another country and met some kids who he thought were Americans, and just decided on his own to bring them home with him, even putting them on a plane and letting them have free reign around the Capital when he got back. And only after this had happened did anyone realize the kids were not Americans and in fact had loving families back home. Imagine what kind of a scandal it would be.

It would show how sloppy Krakoa's governance is, how is Krakoa a nation for mutants if they don't even put effort into actually checking?

I mean between the X-Men and the Avengers nobody among them has had the idea "maybe they aren't actual mutants?"

There is no way Avengers can know that. But mutants have to think of this possibility, specially that they never set foot on krakoa

To be fair though, the Avengers were looking out for their safety even if they assumed they are mutants because they do not want them to get hurt, captured as well as potentially cause an international incident due to their assumption...which to me makes Storms responses and attitude towards them more than a little insulting. I mean Raven i expect it from her, but Storm? Not really or at least not the Storm from before this run.

Man, I miss when the X-Men actually believed in their founding ideals. Hopefully that's the first thing that comes back post-Hickman

It depends what you consider the proper status quo is, because not everyone will want that or maybe they won't know what they want.

I mean the one thing i don't want is extinction event after extinction event, them fighting other heroes in poorly written scenarios or breaking bread with murderous scum like Sinister, Selene or Apocalypse.
