    Default Captain America recommendations

I've read a lot of Cap with the Avengers but not really anything solo. What Captain America stories do you recommend?

    There's also this:

Amazing Spider-Man 631 was good, too.

This team-up with Black Widow and Wolverine, as well.

Keep in mind that you have about as much chance of changing my mind as I do of changing yours.

I think if you really like the MCU Cap and Bucky you definitely need to read Brubaker's epic.

Perhaps the best single issue of Captain America: Marvel Fanfare #18

Marvel Fanfare #18 by Roger Awesome Stern and Frank Miller.

    Talking Happy Birthday tg1982!!!!

tg1982, patriot of the second World War.

...until a unique military experiment MAXIMIZED his physical structure
    ...turning him into a SUPER-SOLDIER.

Frozen in SUSPENDED ANIMATION at War's end,
he AWOKE in the MODERN WORLD a man out of TIME...

Agreed! In fact, the first ten (10) issues are highly recommended!

To the utmost, I agree! Anything involving the comic-styling of Kevin Maguire is always worth reading (IMHO):

Hate that it was not canon though. Especially Steve's birth year of 1917. In a later source (Avengers: Roll Call) it is given as 1922 making Steve 18 in 1940 when he became Cap. I prefer him a little older for that.
