Take away the Mafuba, and we're somewhere somewhat lower. And, of course, we're stuck with a bunch of guys who have no idea why they are there - if Buu and 17 can't handle the problem, nobody else is worth anything.

Yeah 17 feels closer to big bois than the B squad. He really shouldn't be on this list IMO.

Yup, "MVP 17" became quite the meme material after the ToP. He's certainly not quite on Goku and Vegeta's level - made very clear in the Moro stuff - but he's a monster with unlimited energy and a spammable barrier that the strongest of them would at the very least have to work to break.

But yeah, I don't feel comfortable tossing 17 in with 'the rest of the Z fighters' because he's insanely powerful in his own right.

I was just implying that Goku and Vegita hit "crazy levels" sometime around Namek and have only been going further into the Mouth of Madness ever since (In terms of power levels).

Okay, so if we remove 17 (or keep optional, like Buu), how does that change the thread? Sure, I imagine it would greatly change the dynamics of who they can fight, but I'm interested in the breadth of challengers.

It doesn't change it too massively if you leave the mafuba in. Superspeed guys with attacks that can contain skyfathers at minimum are extremely dangerous.

And each with certain abilities (some more than others) that can even the playing field even against normally more powerful opponents.
