Funny thing is, Blofeld's changing actors is sort of true to the books-in the three novels, he's changed his appearance and his personality also comes off slightly different each time as well.

Yeah, we definitely didn't see that last one in the movies!

Spectre felt like a bore. It confirmed what a lot of us already knew. Skyfall was the peak and it will never be surpassed. Any follow up was going to fall short.

I liked Brosnan quite a bit as Bond. I think the main problem with his tenure is they started getting a little carried away with the gadgets. Bond has always had them but it seems in the Brosnan era they leaned to far into them and it made things seem just way too campy.

How did he even get an invisible car?

You could feel the producers needing to make sure to use bigger and more CGI to compete with the biggest summer blockbusters. Hopefully they know that's not the arena for Bond and to keep the character a bit more grounded. (Spectre was just plain goofy though - it overshot Brosnan and hit Roger Moore territory in my mind)

Yeah, Craig Bond works better without the campiness. But idk how they'll carry on with the next Bond

There's been talk of a Bond set in the 50s or 60s when the novels and films were first released as a "new take", although I'm not sure what the producers think. Some of the recent comic books have used this (The novel adaptations and James Bond Origin is set during world war II I think).

SPECTRE felt like it was supposed to be the end of the series at least for the Craig Bond. It's the only way that movie makes any sense to me. It's not a good movie, however.

It also weirdly personalizes the antagonism between Bond and Blofeld for no reason that I could see.

Honestly Brosnan era didn't do me any favours, I had a visceral dislike of the current Bond movies. I haven't watched any and I'm waiting for the next casting to see if I will follow this franchise ever again.

What direction would you want Bond to go in?

I actually don't have an opinion on where it should go I just knew I couldn't take whatever James Bond Daniel Craig was serving.

I'm kind of curious if NO TIME TO DIE's ending will have some effect. The trailers have teased "This one changes everything". Makes me wonder that perhaps Craig's Bond could die (Something even Fleming considered at one point) or even leave it somewhat ambigious as to his fate,(Think the opening of Skyfall or You Only Live Twice but at the end of the movie instead). The latter option could even allow for a sixth Craig film if he was ever to change his mind. (although at this point he's approaching Moore years).

It's like they started out playing with the grounded feel of the Connery and Dalton Bonds then went full Roger Moore camp the first chance they got. It's like they never knew what kind of Bond they wanted Dalton to be.
