This is tough, I was just thinking of all the great Silver Age Superman and Legion stories, but the 70s DC stuff was also top notch. The Batman line seems especially strong but I love both Action and Superman from back then. Has the Justice League been better? I mean even Morrison’s run seems like a reimagined version of the era.

    For me, it's a tie between the '40s, '60s and '80s.

The 80s -- both pre and post Crisis.

I don't feel DC was as innovative in the 90s --- and they had huge misses in that decade as well. The 90s may have had Gaiman's Sandman, but the 80s had Moore's Swamp Thing (which was somewhat of a precursor to Sandman).

While they had some success with their horror/supernatural/mature comics in the 1980s, I feel like they were on the next level by the early 1990s with many titles in that area--what would eventually become Vertigo, but wasn't Vertigo yet.

I would have to say the 80's.

Rather I think that there are eras when Your Favorite was doing Something You Liked Personally, and in which you're willing for one reason or another to overlook other stuff.

I mean for example, I love New 52 Superman, I think under Grant Morrison's Action Comics, he's a near perfect blueprint for the character, and so I've got a lot of fondness for the New 52. But ultimately the New 52 is kind of a mess in a lot of ways. Wonder Woman, despite a great Hellboy-esque arc from Azzarello, has these awful barbarian Amazons that many fans justifiably hate, Batman's timeline gets crunched painfully down to what, five Robins in five years, Martian Manhunter got kind of vilified and made to fight the League and join Morally Grey Team Stormwatch, and The Flash, well, it was great for Barry fans, but Wally fans suffered a lot. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, obviously.

And you can say similar things about different other eras.
I think this is pretty accurate.

I'd say I like the 80s for NTT, Legion of Superheroes, Moore's Superman stories and the early Vertigo stuff and Watchmen, but I hated COIE and the Byrne reboot of Superman, and Perez's Wonder Woman is a mix of great stuff mixed with ideas I don't like. So some of my favorite were doing great, others not so much, so I can't embrace the decade as a whole. Goes the same for a lot of the other decades.
