What?! I never seen or heard of this. I'm a new fan and have gotten into comics almost a year ago and now my favorite publisher put a hold. At least this gives me time to read all the old lines I missed.

Also, comics need to take notes from Manga. Japanese comics give Americans what they want more than American made comics. It's very telling that DC as well as Marvel need to get in touch with a more widespread American audience because it clearly can be done and is needed for them to continue.

DC ending or even ceasing publication of comics would be huge news and make every network. No more Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman comics is a headline that sticks out

I could see DC ending its publishing division. WB is making cuts, and while the IPs are wildly popular and successful, the current comics may not be. This wouldn’t mean an end to DC movies or shows. It wouldn’t even necessarily mean the end of DC comics - they could just lease out the IPs and let other companies actually make the comics while not maintaining an in-house publication arm themselves.

It’s very unlikely this happens by June though.

It is a lie with no real foundation. This lie has been going on for a long time and they always repeat it.
Typical rumor that was born from the ass to attract an audience.
You just have to see who started this rumor.

They said they had no intention of ending, but now that you brought it up, they've decided to end.

Last year, Adam Phillips, former Director, Marketing Services at DC Comics, who did the regularly monthly solicitations was made redundant. It was his last day, two months ago.


Just in case anyone thinks the sky is falling in, as they usually. Here are details on the few July-scheduled books already released.

While it is possible, even if unlikely. DC ceasing publication of comics would be a story that wouldn't fall through the cracks. This would be a story that would see press and anyone with any interest in comics books would hear about it.

I'd also imagine the talent pool no longer being employed by DC would also be a pretty big indicator.
