Default Do you read new DC comics, old comics or both?

Do you prefer reading new and modern comics or older comics that have previously published? Or do you like to do both and keep up with the new and modern comics whilst also reading older comics?

I personally like focusing on one era of comics and then moving on to other eras.

Mostly both. Nowadays I'm keeping up with modern comics less as they've disappointed me. With older comics, I have the advantage of hunting down popular or critically acclaimed runs/stories.

I jump around a lot. No order in particular, just what I feel like that day.

Mostly old stuff, especially since the pandemic because I can't get to any comic book stores. But I read the odd new thing online--or take out books from the library. I recently finished reading all of Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp's THE GREEN LANTERN. But through that run, Sharp managed to prove to me what I love about classic comic book art and what I hate about current "painted" comic book art. Too bad he had to end the series with the bad "painted" look instead of the classic approach.

When DC or Marvel do a relaunch (or whatever you call a bunch of #1s), they do tend to sucker me in to trying out some new titles, but otherwise, I mostly read old stuff.

Almost exclusively old stuff. I occasionally get sucked into checking something new out, but I'm usually disappointed. I think comics have probably moved on from what I'm looking for, and that's fine by me, plenty of pre-2010 stuff that I've never read.

New stuff like Far Sector and the current Krakoan X-stuff, but also lots of rereads of my various trades like Great Darkness Saga or Immortal Iron Fist or Judas Contract.

I mostly prefer older comics/back issues. At the moment I'm reading Levitz/Giffen-era Legion of Superheroes and am up to issue #313.

Besides a few exceptions, including Scooby-Doo Team-Up and DC Comics Bombshells, the only modern series I've been following is Aquaman.

I'm mostly both. Though every now and then the modern comics will get stuck in an era that I'm just not feeling at all so I go back to old stuff. My hatred for the New 52 led to me reading a lot of Pre-Flashpoint books that I ended up loving (particularly Geoff Johns' Teen Titans run). And my hatred for Didio's most recent (and hopefully final) reign is how I started reading Gail Simone's first Birds of Prey run. So I guess getting pissed off at newer comics does have its merits lol

I've been mostly fed up with new comics for over a decade now due to a combination of content and price. I still read a few books here and there - currently just GL and Titans from DC, and Conan and GotG from Marvel. Instead, I've been going back and getting into Silver and Bronze Age stuff. Right now I'm reading through a big stack of old House of Mystery comics that I found at a local antique shop a few weeks ago.

90% new, 10% old. If it weren’t for DCUI it would be 99% new.

Mostly older books. Modern continuity is a mess. About the only modern stuff I read are out of continuity stuff.

I lean towards older ones though I read some current ones that are in their own setting. Some is due to the prices these days and some to the content which tends to take itself or give the feeling of taking itself very seriously.
