I'd probably be more prone to believe that critiques/concerns of this nature were legitimate if they didnt come mostly of fans of Tge Pretender who has killed more Mutants then any 10 crucibles could.

I got this calculation by keeping track of Rahne's age. In New Mutants volume 1 that published in 1982 Rahne was 14, in New X-Men Academy X published in 2004 she is 19.

While it's true in comics that characters come back often. Wanda tends to take long breaks. And while the story isn't done, solicits don't seem to have a return for her as of October. It could be until December before we see her. Or later even. But even if/when she comes back, she'll have spent the event dead for everyone else's story.
