Originally she was written as being a virgin, just using her powers instead, then she became a huge slut with future writers...sadly...

I don't see how her being a former prostitute turned x-man is boring at all. I don't recall any other mutant with that backstory. And did stacy even sleep with her clients? It seemed more like she was being branded a wh*re when all she had to do was touch people to get them off.

She may not have slept with her clients when she had her powers, but when she was depowered after M-Day she had to have sex with her clients at that point since she no longer had her powers as an alternative.

She also later had a sexual relationship with Chamber's ex Sugar Kane--but its not entirely clear if Stacy and Sugar had an actual relationship or if Sugar was a client in a gay-for-pay situation (Sugar may have been using the fling as a publicity stunt, much like how she exploited her relationship with Chamber). The two of them were shown in bed together though, along with a non-mutant hero named Ultimate Nullifier they had a threesome with.

A good start would be calling her by what they originally intended her to be called which was Ecstasy (or even Exstasy). It is dumb that some supposed tie to the drug was the reason the name got killed. I mean pheromone powers, a prostitute, Ecstasy it was perfect branding for a character.

I have always like the character she had potential imo simply because she brought a strong viewpoint to the book, A character who is very comfortable with sex and using weaponize sex(yes I know the pitch had her as a virgin for irony) is very interesting in the X-men world.

I also liked her powers have some applications so that could be used like telepath if you need practical use for her in books. But she also had some unique application of her powers where it seem could control people (glands??) so she could do stuff like make people sick, increase their ability to heal or stamina. Plus they could play around with reptilian aspect of her mutation. It is shame she had a bad setup because she has more potential than of characters who get used.

So beside the short story recently, why these two specifically?

While those two tend to be short tempered, i don't think Stacy would tick them off the wrong way.
Marrow in particular would likely have no problem with her, because if she is repowered, she would automatically get respect points for looking abnormal (albeit "pretty) and if she is still depowered she would get empathy points for a shared misery.

I don't know. It actually just has to do with the recent story but both are considered wild but an interesting play is that Marrow is she started out more asexual before she started getting attracted to men and even "fell in love" But Stacy is more free in her approach to sex while Marrow is more complicated. Of course they all have the attitude. And then they can expand from there. There appearances also had partly to do with it as you said.

I could see her getting along with marrow but maybe butting heads at times due to them both having strong personalities. probably a sisterly love/hate relationship.

oh god. now i remember that awful mini and i personally choose to wipe it from my memory. it was a stacy clone far as i'm concerned. according to chuck austen the higher ups at marvel absolutely hated stacy-x. i remember him saying they forced him to kick her out the squad and use jubilee instead. i think with the recent trends of sex work being normalized thats the only reason we are getting stacy back in the fold of x-men like this.

Different strokes. Personally I enjoyed that mini, and I liked the fact that Joe Casey brought Stacy back from limbo, and restored her proper appearance, etc, after how she'd been used and abused after he left the book.

Just because she didn't sleep with all of her clients doesn't mean that she never slept with ANY of them--or that she would never engage in any recreational sex outside of work. Given that it was Stacy's co-creator who wrote her threesome with Sugar Kane and Ultimate Nullifier, it seems it was not out of line with who he created Stacy to be. Its certainly not the worst thing that was ever done with her character.

Ah, ok, THAT I agree with. I thought you were referring to the VENGEANCE mini, where she has the relationship with Sugar Kane, not the DECIMATION: GENERATION M mini where she is shown as a down-on-her-luck prostitute on the streets.

Yep, that mini was intended to show how M-Day ruined the lives of many of the depowered mutants--Stacy among them. That was definitely not a direction I cared for with her either.

I hate her haircut and stripper costume.

She should shave her head completely and get a new costume that shows lots of her skin but that doesn't look so trashy.

Would love to see her in one of Emma's old White Queen outfits.
