Of course she not a pretender. Imma need the same energy given from those who talk about all the mutants killed to be given to Jean too. She murdered millions if not billions as the Phoenix. If she can be forgiven so can Wanda.

I was talking about posters here not events that transpired via Canon. Also, Jean well after that retcon acknowledged she was responsible for those events. So that isn't even a valid argument lol

But I never said Wanda was guilty. Or that she did not deserve a pass. In fact, I voted No! Stop calling Wanda a pretender.

i never said this was directed at you.. it is for those who can't give Wanda a pass but are able to give Jean one it very much is relevant. its to make a point that even when a hero has committed acts that don't appear to be redeemable there is always the ability to make amends. that is the parallel. if its good for Jean why not Wanda? as Jean herself said she was very much so responsible for the acts of the Phoenix even if it wasn't technically her.


If Jean doesn't work for you replace her with any other character who has done shady things and are now accepted as heroes. Emma, Magneto, Colossus, Cyclops, Rogue, Scott any of these characters could work to make the point im making. Jean is just one who I felt went beyond what Wanda did so I used her as an example.

I do not think this will work for those fans. They have their views. In fact, I hear a new book is coming out called The Trial. Many speculate Wanda will be on trial.

if Wanda is put on trial and any of those characters I mentioned are jurors or the judge they would be hypocrites. the xmen have freaking white supremists on krakoa for Pete's sake. there are many characters there who did unforgivable acts who was given a second chance. if they did it for the others I believe she deserves that too.

The Shiar aren’t generally portrayed as protagonists we should root for, though.

Did not another character by the name of Cassandra Nova Xavier, Charles’s own sister actively, calculating and purposely Murder over 16 Million Mutants on Genosha alone!?

I suppose that what Cassandra Nova did was just killing the mutants, something that can happen to both humans and mutants. (I agree that the number is impressing…)

What Wanda did was an attack on the core identity of the mutants, the thing that the mutants were proud of: their powers. Note that the ones with a unusual appearance kept their unusual appearance. There was no upside except for those whose powers were an hidrance.
So, it became a founding element of the mutant nation.

I guess that pride is more important than life. In Marvel universe, anyway… Why some X-fans get along with that idea, I don’t know.
