Default OT: Jack O'Neil is made the commander of Deep Space Nine

Basically what the title says. Federation Commander Jack O'Neil has just been assigned the Cardassian space station over Bajor, instead of Sisko. Assuming that O'Neil has all the necessary Starfleet training for the purposes of interacting with the Trek verse, how does he do in place of Sisko?

Last time I checked, O'Neil doesn't have the diplomatic skills or foresight that Sisko had(which was also why having Carter around worked so well) And to a hammer, everything looks like a nail. But. At least we can have the running gag of Q getting shot every time he appears on DS9.

Q: You shot me! Picard never shot me!

O'Neil: *looks around the room confusingly* ...wait, who's Picard?

As O'Neil is not the Emissary, things don't turn out so well.

I would still love to him and Dukat butt heads. O'Neil would drive Dukat even more crazy than Sisko did.

you need all of sg-1 for this.

    jack would make some quips.

daniel would somehow connect the prophets to ancient egypt.

    sam would say some techno-babble.

and teal'c would say "indeed" about 100 times.

    and the dominion war ends.

O'neill wanted to name humanity's first ship the Enterprise and got really pouty about it. Also an amateur astronomer. We know Star Trek exists in his universe (Vala tried to rip it off and they make the occasional reference), so I'm thinking he's definitely seen every episode of DS9 and can solve every problem by knowing the answers.
