Amazons of Themyscira Appreciation Thread 2021

We have 1 tribe based in "Greece" i.e. Themyscira, 1 in Egypt aka the Bana, 1 in Brazil that we don't know the name of..... any other interesting spots? I was thinking China, they have some fun mythologies to play around with.

Edit: also India and Hindu mythology would be cool too.

I'd love if DC made a tribe of amazons located somewhere in the Caribbean, inspired by indigenous Taínos.

I dont really want them to be scattered all over the world and have an Amazon that is a demigoddess of each tribe. Just create a new group of women.

I remember the space amazons, I definitely want them to come back, although in a less hostile way.

Wait what about Turkey? In some myths the Amazons are also in Turkey. India would be cool. On Paradise Island should there be more cities? Kind of like Portal cities? Also do you guys think all the Amazon tribes should be immortal? Or maybe unlike Themyscira many amazons could chose to not be immortal

Don't know enough about Turkey to comment. I agree that Themyscira should have it's own sub cultures. Every Amazon tribe should be different have their own thing going on.

India has a small community of women who can fight and teach other girls to fight and stand up for themselves against abusers.

Nepal and Bhutan have their own matriarchal sub cultures but I'm going to have to do a bit more digging on that.

Not exactly 'Amazons' of China just a matriarchal culture which Diana had to protect from the 'evil' men trying to conquer it.

Well they were descended from the original Amazons and made their way eastward to escape the whole Heracles stunt, and had Amazonian elements within their culture, so I say close enough
