Yeah, the film simplified it to Zeus creating them.

I'd have preferred to have at as either Athena or Aphrodite if we're simplifying the Perez origin for a movie but what can you do.

Yep. Daddy Zeus is bad enough, even the solo movies at least keep the references minimal, bur definitely not a fan of giving him credit for the creation of all the Amazons.

No more of Hippolyta getting passed around the Greek Pantheon. The focus needs to be on her as a skilled and powerful warrior plus leader whose life and kingdom were spoiled and destroyed by the pettiness and hubris of Heracles. Thus the Amazons relocated to Themyscira in order to live a peaceful life free from tyranny.

Yes, Jimenez's Themyscira. My favorite look for the island (mainly because it's floating).

Considering a big moment in Jiminez's run is Wonder Woman dueling Circe on live television being broadcast worldwide and refusing to take Circes life after defeating her and Ruckas run including the exact opposite of that with Medusa (who already died twice in post crisis by that point?) Im honestly leaning towards Rucka just trying to tear down alot of the Jiminez material.
