So, do all magic characters shop at the same store?

Maybe turbans were très chic in the late 1930s/early 1940s?

And not all magic characters back when wore tubans and/or capes.

That is some lovely Howard Purcell artwork.

Lando is very similar to another Purcell creation - Sargon the Sorcerer. Any idea which character was created first?

World's Best Comics #1 had an approximate on-sale date of February 10, 1941 (according to Mike's Amazing World of DC Comics); January 21, 1941 was the approximate on-sale date for All-American Comics #24 which was when Sargon the Sorcerer was announced.

Damn that's close. Interesting that he had two similar characters going at the same time.

Thanks for the info and for including the announcement. Dr. Mid-Nite is a personal favourite of mine.
