Yeah I checked the numbers a few years ago for some data. This doesn't include alternate universes but these characters are all high profile characters so they'd all have several hundred more basically, wouldn't change rankings. There are a lot of characters, Janet, Wanda, Colossus etc. around 1200-1300tier

Here's a fun fact at 1170, Mary Jane Watson has made more appearances than Janet "Wasp" Dyne, co-founder of the Avengers (and the lady who came up with the thordamned name). More appearances than Jean Grey.

It's because Logan had a solo book as well as appearing in X-Men and other team books (X-Force, Avengers). Not surprising that he overtook the O5.

Rogue is just under 1000major 616 appearances while Kitty is just over 1000. Emma is around 930, Wasp 1150, Magik 500. Psylocke just under 800 so you over estimated the x-women a bit. Nat's around 1170.

Yeah DC has never done enough with characters outside of World's Finest.

You know Spider-Man and Wolverine, Marvel's top two appeared in 1962 and 1974 respectively. Superman and Batman appeared in 1938 and 1939 respectively. There's basically 25 years separating Superman and Spider-Man, 37 separating Superman and Wolverine, and well...look how quickly they closed the gap.

Don't worry about reprints (such as foreign editions) as the Fandom wiki would also include those, if they've actually been added to the site (though they're missing a lot). They really shouldn't be counting AUs as the same character though.
