If IP holders went after fanfic that was sexually inappropriate or pornographic than places like DeviantArt would have been shut down a long time ago.

But you should be fine, I mean a guy made a career out of taking Garfield out of Garfield comics.

There are fan comics online about other characters like Batman and Superman. I'm sure you could find a way. I would love to read it

They haven't sent a cease and desist to stuff like JL8 so I don't know that they care too much as long as you don't profit off their IP.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know. I wonder how many people who eventually end up in comics started by thinking "I am gonna write the X character stories I'd like to read!"? Not that I want to end up writing for DC, but I definitely crave stories about Wonder Woman that do not center Batman or Superman, that make her as powerful and capable as befits a member of DC's fabled Trinity, and that adhere to Charles Moulton Marston's core values for Diana (which means...no blood-thirsty, sword-happy, "badass warrior chick" here!) LOL

Bat In Sun makes videos where Batman fights Darth Vader or Black Canary fights Wonder Woman. There has been a few WW live action fan films as well as ones focusing on Superman and Batman all of them made and starring fans. I haven't watched any of them in full but I've seen clips online.

I don't think DC cares as long as you're not profiting off of it.

Yeah, and it weird to because they are going for a whole slew of obscure villain...but they still picked Cheetah on the Wonder Woman side.

Like, you got some super obscure ones like Nosferata, Domino 1 & 6, La Dam, King Faraday & Boss Moxie... why not go with one of the many obscure Wonder Woman villains?

Because it wouldn't have the same impact as seeing a well known WW villan jobbing to catwoman yet again. This is how DC ''respects'' WW lore and gives it more exposure. As the punching bag for other characters.

I know right? Looking at the cover, you'd think she's going to be in between trying to keep the peace. But we already know that's a lie.

The games did the same thing. I remember the initial pieces of promo art for first game featured Batman and Superman at each other's throats while Wonder Woman was off to the side, looking distressed as if she wanted no part of what was going on.

It's like they know what Diana's part in a Superman/Batman divorce should be and then say "Nope."

I swear, the lasso gets a metaphorical hammer to it's metaphorical kneecaps the second it becomes useful, or more accurate, when the writers become lazy.
