They did the same thing with WW84. When it was first out, it was only available for 1 month. Than about 3 months later, you can see it as many times as you want. Once and only once was enough for me

I'm guessing the marginal revenue for a physical disc sold exceeds the marginal revenue (if there even is any) of a view on HBO Max.

You want people to come in blind and feel the need to have to see it. Streaming first helps kill the potential sales.
