Default pre-CoIE Alias the Spider <originally from Quality Comics> Appreciation 2021

First appearance = Crack Comics #1 (May 1940) from Quality Comics.

    To be continued . . .

In the 1970s, DC did reprint one of The Spider's Golden Age stories, which is when I first learned about the character:

(originally from Crack Comics #25, cover-dated September 1942)

When The Spider did eventually show up in a new story from DC, it was in a group shot of many Quality Comics characters in All-Star Squadron #50 (May 1985).

After DC originally removed the Golden Age versions of Green Arrow & Speedy from continuity, I had thought The Spider might make a good replacement for Green Arrow in the Seven Soldiers of Victory. And many years later, DC eventually did that, but they radically altered the character so that the Golden Age hero was now actually a villain pretending to be a hero. Grrrrr!
