Sosa is the guy from Scarface...the drug Kingpin from Latin America who sent Coke to Tony in America, he was extremely powerful

He had guys he owned in the Bolivian government and in the USA gov, when Scarface was looking at federal charges on tax evasion Sosa guaranteed he could get him off with no jail time and at most he’d pay a fine with strings pulled by friends in Washington, when they met I think there was a Bolivian general present and a guy from Washington.

He had several talented personal assassins at his disposal who were seen throughout the film, The Shadow was a guy who was an expert assassin, he was sent to assassinate a journalist who could expose Sosa, The Shadow knew about bombs etc as he planted a remote detonated bomb under a car.

The Skull was another assassin, both the shadow and the Skull killed Tony’s drug partner whom he disliked named Omar on a whim by throwing him out a plane, the Skull later assassinated Tony in the end of the film using a double barrel shot gun.

Sosa has huge man power at his disposal, he sent a huge death squad to kill Tony at the end of Scarface, it was an endless wave of man after man armed with AK’s led by the skull

Sosa likely was also very insulated and free of any real criminal reprisals being in his own country of Bolivia kind of like how Don Eladio was almost impossible to kill in Breaking Bad as he was fortified in Mexico.

    The Corleones

Vito Corleone was a small time Sicilian immigrant who fled to America, he then met up with his future Capos Clemenza and Sal Tessio, he also had an advisor not in the films named Genko who’s family took him in.

Together they formed the Corleone crime family, after the olive oil war the Corleone's were the biggest and most powerful family in New York of the 5 families

Man power they could muster 100 button men (hitmen?) they also had political ties to judges, congressmen, etc, but these ties were not absolute.

Vito also had Luca Brasi a very dangerous hit man

Micheal Corleone had a bit more political power and I’m not sure about man power but he also had underboss Al Neri, an ex cop who was his head of security
