Yes, it was no big deal in Europe and was a hit there. These days it wouldn't make a ripple. We never saw Coronation Street in the US but men dressing in drag wasn't always controversial. I recall a Three Stooges short where all them dressed as women. But when the video for I Want to Break Free was released TPTB at MTV would never play it in North America. Fortunately 2 year later the band would be the hit of the Live Aid concert. But they didn't play that song in their set.

I'm gonna use an entry from CBR's very own Brian Cronin with his regular feature "The Line it is Drawn"! I was afraid Iron Maiden would beat me to it.

It's in my top five favorite shows, but I did do other 'covers' that I may post after the contest ends, they just weren't as finished (i.e. no title or in some cases, no color). There's also an alternate version of the one I posted.

So many to choose from, but Batman 66 has the funniest.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
