I'd say FS : Superman of Metropolis and FS : Justice League makes for great Jon showings closer to New 52 Superman (but not quite). I guess Son of Kal-El 1 will be the stuff.

Eventually Jon will replace Clark in the JL soon.
Jon did have an out-of-control super flare in Tomasi’s run, but I think that ability is part of standard Kryptonian power set now. IIrc N52 Kara and Karen also displayed a super flare, and a Batman/Superman story I read recently had a Daxamite with the same power as well. The latter examples were on a smaller scale though.
Future State featured a SM/WW team up with Jon and Yara. I expected DC to make them a romantic couple in Infinite Frontier, but Joelle Jones confirmed in an AMA that Yara was in her early/mid-twenties so shipping’s off the table.
Jace and Jo are also at least in their mid-twenties I think? Which probably makes Jon the youngest of the 5G gen at 17. It does make me wonder if Jon was supposed to be aged up more to fit in with the rest of the gen, but the backlash from the first age up stopped DC from doing so.
Yeah Future State is where the influence really starts to become apparent. Check out Superman of Metropolis, Superman/Wonder Woman, and Future State Justice League, those three are where people started to see the connection.
They don’t care about that or they’d have deaged him by now lmao. It’s not like you could make the anti-aged Jon group more mad.
For when my rants on the forums just aren’t enough: https://thevindicativevordan.tumblr.com/
I think this is the main reason why 5G wasn't killed entirely. Disney has found a way around public domain law by making Steamboat Willy their logo for their animation studio. Warners/DC still hasn't found a way to work around it. A "new" Superman is exactly what they need but they need him to catch on. Jon is their best bet. Much as many of us might not care for him, they may need him just as a practical matter.
Assassinate Putin!
No the youngest would be Andy who is a baby right now, Future State ages make no sense so don’t try to rationalize it.
Anyway I can’t wait for characters to start running into each other, I can at least see people like Yara, Jace, and Jo running into Jon right now.
"It's fun and it's cool, so that's all that matters. It's what comics are for, Duh."
Words to live by.
Nah, I’m sure that would generate at least a popcorn bucket’s worth of outrage
Batman will also fall into the public domain the year after, do you think that the same reasoning applies to the creation of Jace’s Batman? Somehow I don’t get that same feeling but I could be wrong.
Adult Andy will be in the upcoming DC Pride, so I expect that version of her to show up from the future or something. But I am really looking forward to the other characters coming together too, I liked them in Future State.
Derivatives and those with adjustments are still DC only. Trademarks of names and logos can still be renewed for DC stuff.
Super-sons of tomorrow.Jon went to space cause he blew up titans tower and almost distroyed the entire fortress with titans and superman there. After that jon got rejected by titans.Clark was a dick blaming damian and trying to stop their friendship. But having to relent. And ewww!! wwxjon yuck!...He likes telepaths apparently.blonde ones. The only non-telepath jon has ever paired up with is mary marvel..(Jonathan x mary would always come back to superman franchise,i guess.Superjesus.can't get rid of it.Taylor is writing jon's book so it might happen in main universe as well). Also, jon is getting a new costume. The armor is bendis's legion costume..

I always liked the idea of giving Clark back his pre-crisis Omni-benevolent space god personality and saddling Jon kent with all the insecure human emotions of post-crisis/modern Superman
Turns them into amazing foils
This issue I take with any and all comparisons to Invincible is that the much maligned and incredibly unpopular new direction for Jon and the resurgence in popularity of Invincible due to the show are incomparable because those two events are purely coincidental. Whatever forces at DC that were against Jon being a long term investment and a kid where present well before the Invincible show was ever announced.
Remember when Tomasi had to fight tooth and nail against editorial to get the beloved county fair issue of his and Gleason's run published? Who knows what else went on behind the scenes. Who knows what great ideas were left on the cutting room floor because there were editors and execs that didn't understand or appreciate what Tomasi and Gleason and so many fans saw in Jon.
With the success of Invincible, I don't know what I fear more: Taylor being forced by editorial to write his book like Invincible or Taylor, on his own volition and taking it upon himself, writes Jon like Invincible solely because that's what's popular at the moment.
