The Killing Joke - It's considered a Batman classic for good reason I think.

For me it's The Gauntlet. It shows Dick's "final exam"

The art by Weeks is amazing, and I love the building out of the mythos

Excellent selection, charliehustle415! As for my choice, a personal favorite would be...

Thanks! Hopefully, the cinematic version will be just as good:

If you like westerns, P&G probably had like 10 issues that could be nominees during their great Jonah Hex run (before All-Star Western). They specialized in one-and-done.

“Dreadful Birthday, Dear Joker” by Len Wein and Walt Simonson, sometimes my favorite Joker story ever!
“The Adult Legion” by Curt Swan and Jim Shooter, Superman and the Legion!
“Fighters Never Quit” by Alfred Bester Paul Reinman, Golden Age Solomon Grundy vs Alan Scott GL!

    Adventure Comics #452

A dark as hell tale considering it was released in 1977!

    That run was sheer brilliance.
    It is CRIMINALLY underrated.
