    Default Reboot the x-line

It’s 2022. Marvel comics sales are at its lowest point. Marvel decides to trash current continuity and restart it from scratch, a la DC’s New 52.

You are the chief of the x-office. Kevin Feige briefs you to set the stage for a new X-Men cinematic universe.
What would be your year one X-line?

The old guard (Charles, Eric, Scott's team, Ororo's team) is already dead and the mutants have been decimated.

The story begings with a mix of "Messiah Complex" and New Mutants Graphic Novel: Hope's birth activates the X-genes in young people (Sam, Berto, Dani, Xian, Rhane, maybe some Hellions too...).
They are assembled by a time traveler (Magik a/o Cable a/o Bishop a/o Layla) and must find the mutant messiah before the Purifiers/FoH/Right led by Pierce/Stryker/Creed/Hodge find her.

Maybe add a rival mutant team who wants to weaponize Hope. Same: mix of NM/Hellion assembled by dear Cassie posing as Charles. Or maybe: the main characters are actually being manipulated by fake Charles, while those who are presented as the bad guys are actually trying to save the day.

Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way

I’d tell him, enough with the reboots, already. Don’t do it.

The X-books would arguably be the worst property to wipe away continuity for since so much of the appeal is tied into the character development ever since Claremont first started.

Since Claremont, character development has been pretty damaged, anyway…

I would erase all the mutants… and several years laters, powers appeared among teenagers… These young people would meet and want to know more about these forgotten figures that were the infamous X-men…

A new start with new people.

    Xavier is a good guy
    Magneto is an anti villain
    Cable is an anti hero

All three of them have teams. They all are fighting for mutants and as such sometimes work togather.

    Appocolips is a villain

Karakoa is still a thing but a bit smaller and allows humans on. Oh and no main cast member is in the government.

X force (under cable) and Brotherhood (under magnito) is 100% mutants
X men (under Xavier) is 70% mutants and 30% human and mutates.

X factor back to being government black ops under Cooper

X-men is intersectional fighting for all people to be equal.

    My team:
X-men Wolverine cyclops Phoenix gambit rogue Polaris Luke cage Spiderwoman (Julie carpenter)moon knight juggernaut

Xforce cable domino Deadpool archangel psy lock (Kawan) boom boom cannonball x23

Brotherhood avalanche pyro iceman beast mystique destiny and blob

X factor quicksilver us agent multiple man forge strong guy and havoc

Excalibur and new mutants will follow “other students of Xavier” with Excalibur being interdeminsional and New mutants being the school

Excalibur. Capt Britain (Betsy) Magik Blink Syrin and elixir

New mutants focuses on the kids

Give storm and night crawler stand alone books

Keep the sword/karako idea going but donÂ’t give them a book

Edit: and make sure to spell out stark tech is in sentinels

In the real world i would be BOTH pro registration and Pro mutant rights. Xavier and Trask were both right.

These reboots are sorta laughable. An MCU one would be especially so.

We probably won't even have got to Triumph Of X by 2022, so probably a bit early to put everyone back in the mansion and have Kitty Pryde turn back into the writer's waifu again.

And I do mean ALL of it, every X book and X character.

That said, it is my sincere opinion that the X titles are the very best new comics Marvel is publishing these days.

Yeah it seems unlikely any major reboots will happen before 2024 i think.

    This.

And a marginalized group living rent free in a huge mansion (as they train teens to fight for an old, bald rich white guys moral whims) while their peers suffer violence and hatred in the streets is just not a good look in today’s world.

It’s weird and kinda pathetic that anyone would want that again.

Agree, any regression to the mansion after Hickman's Krakoa is going to feel like an insult.
