Default Artists You Think Really Knew How To Depict Superheroic Feats

I'm not talking about the best artists in superhero comics, although I imagine some of their names will come up here. I'm talking about artists who had a way of making a character using skills or superpowers look really interesting or compelling.

I've seem some superhero art that's really good looking, but it doesn't sell you on the use of the characters' abilities. I'll keep my opinion on that to myself, as this thread isn't about bashing artists, but about celebrating those that could make an action scene come alive through the way they depicted the use of the characters' abilities.

A stand out to me has always been Gil Kane, who could make the Atom in action look amazing...

...and could even make so lame and one-note a character as The Aerialist look interesting and dynamic...
    Image.jpg
(although I'll admit a special fondness for The Aerialist, who managed to get a lot of mileage out of a fairly minimalist ability). He's probably at his best with acrobatic or martial arts action...

...but he managed to make characters like Green Lantern look pretty good too.

Who do you find especially compelling?

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Kindly credit the artist, I know who it is, but that's the point of the thread.

Should have put it in bold:

I would say… David Cockrum. His pages have creativity and dynamism… which is great to depict superheroic feats.

He isn't mentioned all that often, but I'll always love the artwork of Ron Frenz!

Yeah, I think one of the things that elevated X-Men above what they had been was Cockrum's ability to not only depict action, but load each panel with a sense of genuine stakes. Even if we knew they'd be alright for next issue, boy, that looked serious.

Aside from the action, that one's given power by the thought balloon: They have Cap luxuriating in the power of Mjolnir, and yet being dazzled by it too.

I added the artist. It's so iconic to old farts like me, I didn't think it was needed to.
