She is a SENTINEL. She always defaults back to betraying the X-men bc thats what she is programmed to do

It hasn't been explained how the Sentinel tech is still active after it was purged from her when she was controlled by Arkea. Prior to Hox/Pox she had reverted back to being a normal human woman. If she was still an Omega Sentinel when we had last saw her, then the data page about the Omega Sentinel programming reaching it's final form would have made sense.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Arkea is still dormant in her and will prove to be the entity that is both after screwing Orchis and the X-Men.As Area is extra terrestrial it could easily be said that she developed as some sort of Phalanx herald or primer, sent to assimilate technologies and mark them for Phalanx to 'repurpose' or whatever the data page said. So I would not be surprised if OS has inbuilt directives not even Orchis or Nimrod controls.Kind of how Eli Bard went along with the Purifiers to get his hands on the TO virus.Classic villain back stabbing..watch this space

That would be an interesting twist. Bring back Arkea, since Arkea was a technological bacterium, and have her infect and twist all the Sentinels created by ORCHIS to turn on all organic life, whether the genetic signature reads as "human" or "mutant." Hell, have it turn out that the posthuman "homo novissima" from the future seen in Powers of X was at least partially sourced or derived from Arkea, and Arkea is ultimately using them to ascend to godhood by way of letting the techno-organic Phalanx assimilate them, at which point she will dominate the Phalanx in turn and become a technological deity.

All, like Omega Sentinel Karima, Dr. Kavita Rao’s a human who was with the X-Men during Utopia and Westchester and was a team member. But also not on Krakoa.
