I was at a thrift store this morning buying a transformer s book for a dollar. The only bills I had were some fifties and a five that had gotten torn. I asked the volunteer guy at the register if he could tape it together for me but the lady manager (paid staff I presume) said no. I offered one of the fifties, she lifted it up and claimed it was a counterfeit. Acting like the big expert and said she'd hold it to give to the police. I pointed out that I had gotten it out of an ATM an hour before. Ever seen Aussie notes? These were new ones with 3d hologram pics and very fine details. Fortunately I rummaged through my pockets and found a dollar coin. I paid and left the store without comments, shaking my head. They thought I was pulling the cash a large phony bill and grab Lotsa change scam.
Ever been in a situation where people thought you crooked but you weren't?
