"I can't complain. I got to be Jim Morrison for the first half of my life, and Ward Cleaver for the second half." - Warren Zevon.
I'm guessing they are going to change things up in the company.
The whole thing seemed like an experiment to see if a comic would sell outside of the traditions of a normal book.
For example, to even find a comic is hard, mostly due to there being a very limited way of buying the book.
In an interview, one of the founders seem to imply they were going to make trades or release back issues online.
So I'm guessing it's going to be a "less in the moment" idea.
I've read one of their books (it was cheap and cheerful), honestly, it's on nice paper and I can appreciate a good troll.
I agree. I don't think the company itself is over, but I have a feeling they are going to change how they operate. Some are suggesting that, since Marvel and DC will be flying solo, Bad Idea might now go with Diamond. Because a lot of the things they have done appear to just be one big experiment.
Well...The name of the company was Bad Idea.
"The Marvel EIC Chair has a certain curse that goes along with it: it tends to drive people insane, and ultimately, out of the business altogether. It is the notorious last stop for many staffers, as once you've sat in The Big Chair, your pariah status is usually locked in." Christopher Priest
Fairly certain this is just going to end up being a marketing gimmick.

It feels like were experiencing a second speculator boom, but instead of collector clanmering to preserve special issues, it's about using comic as an ip farm for other media.
Much like the 90s, there are a lot of startup companies coming out of the woodwork to cash in on this trend, and most of them are going to collapse within a couple years.
Denish is now the modern day Jim Shooter.
Both got kicked out of Valiant.
Valiant's quality quickly dropped when they left.
Started a new company that only lasted a year. (Bad idea, Defiant)
