It was my turn last night to clear the table and load the dishwasher, clean the kitchen and from the next room my wife goes "Honey what character is this guy?"

I pop my head into the Living Room and after a few seconds go, "Oh, that is Blue Beetle, a DC 3rd stringer".

She says, "He looks gross".

Hope the visual doesn't give that vibe off to too many others.

I think Ant-Man 2 was actually smaller in stakes than 1. At least in the first movie, Cross selling Pym's technology put the world in peril.

"Captain America: Civil War" had nothing to do with saving the world. The heroes fought over Bucky and the Sokovia accords, and while he killed a bunch of people, Zemo was only attacking the Avengers for personal reasons. Cap's mission to save Bucky, T'Challa's desire for revenge and Tony's desire to atone for Sokovia, then to avenge his parents was nothing but personal.

True, but Mysterio was also basically committing a terrorist attack with those drones and almost killed a bunch of people.

I don't think Clan Destine or even Damage Control really fit the character. They never used any of her actual villains.

That is one yes. So basically Ant-Man and Spider-Man movies and this. Which out of all the 30+ movies and dozen+ characters isn't a lot. I'm all for more personal stakes movies in the genre that don't pin the fate of the city/world in it.

I'm seeing projections for Blue Beetle opening at $30-million, which is up significantly from early numbers I saw. Maybe all the social media chatter about the first Latino lead superhero is moving the needle.
