This has been very emotional. Hints that the Illuminati may be gathering, all beautifully drawn and showing endearing scenes of mutants poised for a new future. And a reinforcement in the ideas of the Dream of Xavier.

A good ending for the comic. Good luck, Duggan.

Hold up...this was the last issue?

ETA: Oh yeah. For some reason I thought Duggan's title would be called something else

Yes, after this Hickman writes Inferno and Duggan writes X-Men.

Surprised Sersi cameo’d. Not sure why there’s such rage at Feige showing up

I’m guessing Reed’s whisper was to let Charles know the Illuminati was back in business and that he and Hank were out (as has been pointed out, the Illuminati probably know bits and pieces of Xavier’s behind the scenes shenanigans over the years and might start adding things up)

Looks like they were taking all the Omega level mutants somewhere. From Excalibur's issue, I'm guessing they are all in space building something? A new planet?

Generation X Reunion! I cant tell if M is jealous of Synch bc she doesnt appear happy. She's not even neutral. She just looks stank

Lorna is relieved to be free of X-Factor it seems

Most of the Omegas are at the Gala

I'd say it's pretty in-character that Monet is mad that someone of her generation is in the X-Men and it's not her.

Yes! Loved that small panel. I've been waiting so long to see them together. We'll some of them. I'm sad that Jono and Paige are missing. Monet is either jealous or trying to look cool about it, unlike Angelo.

It's strange that they have Mondo being very friendly with the gang. It's been a while since I read Gen X, but wasn't the Mondo they knew a clone? And the real Mondo didn't know them at all. He even tried to kill them alongside Black Tom and Juggernaut. Did Charles put clone Mondos memories in the recent Mondos body? I might have misremembered though. Old age does that to you

Here's the thing about the election. The way it was handled gives us no reason to care about the people on this team. These are the people who apparently had the best pitches and reasons for wanting to be on the X-Men, and we have no idea what those reasons are. They don't get a chance to speak. All they do is pose. This was the time to tell readers who have never heard of Synch what he's about, what he wants to do as an X-Man, and they didn't even bother. We've got Cyclops' mission statement from X of Swords, and nothing from anyone else. What did this do to convince people who weren't planning to buy the new book when the team was announced last month to change their minds and support this team? What did it do to convince people who think the lineup is safe or boring that they were wrong and to give it a chance? What did it even do to add to the excitement of those who were planning to get the book? As far as I can tell, the answer to all of that is nothing. We did not need Cyclops telling his life story again and Quentin gathering people for next week's Planet-Sized issue. We needed to hear from Polaris, Synch, Sunfire, and Laura what they think and want from all of this.

My response to this is who cares? I care about the people on the team bc I like the characters and am interested in the dynamics of this new configuration, not bc I was banking on the Election to sell me on it. It was a marketing gimmick to hype up the event and new books. Nothing more.

So, who do you think are the two figures that observe the gala from space at the end of the comic?

I'm going to guess that they are Cardinal and Rasputin based on absolutely nothing other than that one sits like Nightcrawler.

Yeah I'm thinking Mars too considering the hint in this week's Excalibur.
