Default Golden Age Huntress Appreciation (2021)

    Before Helena Bertinelli . . . before Helena Wayne . . .
back in 1947, in Sensation Comics #68 (August 1947), Wildcat met up with a woman who went by the name The Huntress.

    A truly great villainess!

(Tigress would have been a much better name for her.)

It is a shame what all was lost in the transition from the golden-age to the silver-age.

    Thanks, MajorHoy.

A couple more pages from Sensation Comics #68 (August 1947):

Well, since she was hunting Wildcat and the public officials in her first appearance, Huntress did fit her.

Also, Zatara the Magician had an arch-foe who was called Tigress that he tangled with several times in the pages of Action Comics years before Huntress first appeared.

We'll save Roy Thomas' post-CoIE retconning the earlier days of Huntress for another time.

But Huntress was still around in the Silver/Bronze Age comic book stories, like

    The Brave & the Bold #62 (October-November 1965)

Yes, but Huntress had the best Tigress costume.

Also, Zatara the Magician had an arch-foe who was called Tigress that he tangled with several times in the pages of Action Comics years before Huntress first appeared.
Ruthless would have been a better name for her than Tigress. Those bumblebee sweaters did her no favors either.

She should have become a regular Batman villain. Many villains should have been rescued from golden-age obscurity...and moved into the Batman's rogues' gallery.

Well, Robin (Dick) and Batgirl (Barbara) did once encounter an Earth-1/Earth-One version of Huntress . . .
