Default What Is The Most Powerful Sword That Dr. Doom Has Ever Wielded?

I probably should have asked this in the Doom Appreciation thread, but this is likely a question that people who don't frequent that thread may know. (Mods, please move, if necessary.)

What is the most powerful sword that Dr. Doom has ever wielded in a comic book story arc? Feel free to list the names of any sword that was in VVD's possession at one time or another. I realize "most powerful" is a term that often invites interpretation, speculation and debate. Thanks!

I don't know the correct answer, but once he was able to put his hands on Excalibur itself.

I really can't say which is more powerful. He has gotten possession of Kitty's Soulsword in Excalibur, he also wielded the legendary sword Excalibur in the Iron Man: Legacy of Doom Mini

He recently got a hold of Hulking's Sword of Space but only briefly.

BTW, Doom claims to own about 50,000 swords

Beat me to it, Abe! Nice to see you are back!

Here's Doom briefly hanging on to the Soul of Space but Hulking took it back In Guardians of the Galaxy #14

yes, Maleev really liked to do his Doom commissions. Well, I don't know if you can call it that. He just posts them on Twitter and people just snap them up! I'm sure you noticed them on the Doom appreciation thread.

And on the subject of Doom and swords, here's a nice symbolic image of Doom (2099) with a sword. (That counts, right?)

I couldn't find anything that showed this with out the caption, but I remember seeing this image used in quite a few places to promote the story were Doom became president. Sometimes it had the tagline "Pledge your Allegiance" with it.

Probably doesn't count, but there's also the Infinity Sword!

Ha!!! Yep, I remembered that he had the Infinity Sword from the cartoon, but wanted to limit this to the comics for my story.

I was initially planning on using only Stormbringer and Mournblade from Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné lore. (Elric appeared in an old Conan comic, so the "White Wolf" and the demon swords are fair game for my story.)

But it stands to reason that Doom wouldn't stop with just collecting two rare swords of power. He'd want all of them. Not as a power grab, mind you, but purely as a collector of such antiquities. (Convincing the heroes of that, though, proves to be a near fatal exchange. Ahhh, the things we do for our hobbies.)

I figured I needed to first identify the swords that Doom already has in his possession, or developed an affinity for in his past. Really appreciate everyone's input.

I really liked that Superhero Squad cartoon. It had some clever writing and good voice actors.
