Hush Era for me. I think he (and more importantly his collaborators) really clicked. The late 80s - early 90s stuff is a tad too sketchy for me and I have next to no love for his mid to late 90s stuff. Then with the New 52, he tended to rely a bit to heavily on his inkers and colorists to hide some really shabby work. I don't really blame him. He did have a lot of responsibility at the time.

I also want to note that I am not a fan of any era when it comes to his design work. I know a lot of people love his X-Men designs, but I think much of that is nostalgia talking. Several of them were dated less than a year after they debuted, which is not the sign of a good design.

    For me, It's a tie between Alpha/Punisher (1987-1989) & X-Era (1989-1992):

Just got his X-men omnibus I think this is his best era. His image stuff is pretty good too imo. After that I think it was hard to hide his flaws.

    I said 89-92

His style on X-men matured and his early issues of WILD Cats was probably his best work.

Only the hair is different. He pushed out a lot of work early on and I've always thought the colors during this time, even though the schemes were so different, really sold these early books. These designs were used for the Capcom games as well so they did their impact.

That said Hush was so much more polished but it's the older stuff for me when I think of Lee's work. Good or bad.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?
    You bet yer ass.
