They didn't. those on earth still don't know anything like they didn't know before and they had nothing to offer spoilers:

if terraforming was such a huge deal of too much power to them while other beings were like "that's cute" something we could do in a year they did in minutes, we give them that but ok. They couldnt' produce what was needed to barter. And they didn't claim anything it was voted on by the galatic community so if they aren't valid neither are the nova corps.
