New Mutants #19 Review/Spoiler- Love Gabby <3

Dani is cheering up Warlock at the Gala after he is shaded on the red carpet by Barry thee Artist. She takes him along as she talks to various guests at the party. Laura is looking for Gabby but no one has seen her. Dani apologizes to Rahne for not going with her to see X-Factor (she was busy in Otherworld). Rahne understands but is upset. She ends up snapping at Dani and reveals her son wont be brought back

The X-men are announcd and there is a group chat where the NMs go over it

Laura is still looking for Gabby. Daken hasnt seen her. Barry continues to be insulting, first to Magik and then James. Karma reveals her look and Barry comments on her. She possesses him and gets him to dump drinks on himself. He is outraged that she used her powers on him and she reads him down.

Warlock has a talk with James where he expresses feelings of being alone now that Doug is married. James gives him words of enouragement and lets him know he has family. Warlock then interrupts a dance between Doug and Bei

Farouk narrates a segment where he talks about coming to Krakoa and how the Shadow King is kept in check. We see a crying Gabby somehwere and the segments ends with him saying goodbye to her

Later on Mars the NM girls are trying to undress James while Laura goes to the Kinney residence on Krakoa and Jonathan the wolverine gives her a note. Cosmar and the other kids find a dead Gabby outside in the woods. Laura shares the note with Daken and in it Gabby expresses that there is a gap between them. She is unsure of her place on Krakoa. She wants things to be better and hope that they can go and enjoy the party together.

That stretch of Warpath talking with Warlock to Gabby's death reveal was really strong dialogue wise.

Also the group chat was great.

Man, I know it's legal for mutants to kill each other now, but that was deeply not ok. Leaving her out for her friends to find, too. Get this man on the Hellions.

Also, the queerbaiting in this issue was off the charts. At least we can be sure Batman did more than gently flit with Catwoman, even if he is some kind of sexless weirdo prude.

What are you talking about here? There wasn't any flirting in this book, other than the guy who was doing so to Magik and karma.

While I was sure, that with this foreshadowing we're going to get Gabbys death it still hurt like hell. Feels weird that there was a time I almost hated her and wanted her gone.
It's good that Laura went to Akihiro, he can get all X-Factor to start looking for her. They also should recruit Logan, 3 Wolverines would find her <body> in no time. Maybe also ask Cypher, Nature Girl or Black Tom.

I cannot wait for next issue, wonder what ideas Vita Ayala have in mind.
I loved the scene where Laura was subtly running away from Synch, she might be strongly overwhelmed by him trying to have what they did in Vault, when she's like "who are you?"

Were we ever told straightly that no clones can be resurrected on Krakoa? Because if that's Gabby case, then Inferno in September isn't the only thing QC should be afraid of. She always went brutal when it came to her family - Deborah and Megan Kinney, her mother when Orphans of X animated her, Gabby when Old Man Logan "killed" her, hell, even in Uncanny X-Men she was overprotective towards Logan, attacking Bishop during sparring.

To answer the question of if she will be resurrected or not. Thats been a story arc thats been brewing in Vita's book since the first issue. Its something Gabby has inquired about and the NM have given an unconvincing answer to

Several times they've made note in this run and others about the uncertainty of clone resurrection.
