While Beast totally has it coming and there should be parades in the streets as children sing when he gets what he deserves...I dont see that matching the description of a death that "splits the mutant community". That implies it's someone who can't come back, like Gabby. That's why I put Kyle on the poll: he's Krakoan, but wouldn't qualify for the same protections as every other Krakoan

Beast’s pretty unpopular among the mutants last I checked and killing him just means he’s moved to the back of the queue.

Of course, I could have egg on my face. But that latest SWORD issue and the September Solicitations seems to strongly indicate it may be a certain mystical based character with habit of wearing red clothing.

Watch it be Franklin or someone else in the end.

EDIT: In another thread, it was discussed it could be any Maximoff. While I agree it is almost definitely a Maximoff, all the evidence seems to put to Wanda at the moment. With that said, the Gala is not over, and there still time for others like Pietro or Tommy to show up to just be killed.

I think the latest developments definitely seem to point to a focus on Magneto's family (blood-related or otherwise), although not necessarily as the murder victim I guess.

Was this stated? Story logic wise it would appear to be set before. With Doom doing this because he will have to leave Latveria due to upcoming big threat (which would be Last Annihilation stuff).

Sorry for my ignorance but where was the memorial of the deceased pictured ?.
Wanda and Pietro may still be mutants, who knows ?, it is only the word of the High Evolutionary.
It isn't really that hard a retcon to undo.
