surprised hes leaving things must have happened behind the scenes first with bringing brisson on as co writer thought he had more issues to write. His run has been very steady some good things happened he defintly knew his spidey history real well but ultiamtley unless something happens in these last 10 issues are so he never had his signature moment or run defining story. If it is zdarsky which may be cool they keep the 2 to 3x month schedule casue more than anything that works for the amazing spidey book
Tom Taylor is announcing a Marvel project today.
I hope I'm wrong, though, and we get Zdarsky, Al Ewing or Jed MacKay.
I don't know why People think Slott will be writing. He did amazing for a decade, Marvel wouldn't put him back in the book after 3 years.
What a shame.
This surely isn’t Spencer’s original planned ending - it feels like there’s still so much to do. Truly thought we’d get somewhere with OMD but now it looks like we may not get the answers.
Can't say it's surprise, current issues really felt like Spencer wants to quickly get rid of all story arcs, before getting to the end of this entire Kindred saga.
I wonder who will write ASM next.
Probably it's Dark Ages. It would be strange if he would write Superman and Nightwing ongoings for DC, and ASM for Marvel at the same time.

Oh man so Sinister War is the last arc then well based on the cover for 74 I'm guessing Peter and MJ are triumphant over thr kindred arc. Also looks like that MJ plot of her working with Mysterio won't lead to anything serious
"He's pure power and doesn't even know it. He's the best of us."-Matt Murdock
"I need a reason to take the mask off."-Peter Parker
"My heart half-breaks at how easy it is to lie to him. It breaks all the way when he believes me without question." Felicia Hardy
It's going to be an 80 page epic!
If Zdarsky takes over you know what that means? Marco Checchetto doing the inks! Hopefully.
I am not the least bit shocked by this. The only question is why? Think what “came first the chicken or the egg”? Did Spencer announce he is going to a Marvel competitor, so Marvel essentially fired him, or did Marvel let him know he is being replaced so he jumped to the competitor? My own opinion is the latter happened because of how long it took to finish Kindred ( especially because Spencer said he has “The beginning, middle and end planned out” yet, Marvel added a writer to help get Spencer’s run finished, but that is just a guess. What happens next? I am going to say after the Sinister arc, he will wrap up Kindred with two issues ( the last being Giant Sized) and then an epilogue type final issue ( very much like Dan Slott’s ASM 801). We should get more information if this is the plan and who the new writer is next week when the solicits come out.

The Title “What price victory?”is something to keep in mind Think Pyrrhic victory where OMD is ended, but Peter’s secret identity is known and it puts MJ and (or) Aunt May in danger so he cannot be with them. It could mean that OMD is going away, but Aunt May or MJ is sent to “Sleep With The Fish.” It is entirely possible that OMD can be explained and erased by showing Peter what will happen ( including what happens to Harry, Ned etc) if let’s say Aunt May lives. Think “Ghost Of Christmas Future” from A Christmas Carol. Or MJ can sacrifice herself by doing a deal with Mephisto so Peter can be freed.

i wonder if we get another giant size finale issue for sinister war between 73 and 74. there's a month long gap there for the final issue. still feels like there's more story to tell as well
Historically shorter Spider-Man runs are valued more than longer ones. And 73 issues qualifies as "short" these days. So if people are feeling low that Spencer's run isn't mega-long as Slott...believe me it's not a question of volume.
I personally did think that Spencer had a lot more issues to cover...but at the same time, sales were high so barring new information, I'd think this was his choice. I am curious as to how it ends but we'll wait and see.
