    Default The Elementals A team due for reimagining

    I was looking at this Wikipedia article
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elementals_(DC_Comics)

    And it got me thinking. This group could be reimagined into a modern group. I probably would use more established heroes, but the concept is pretty strong.

    Heh. I actually thought of Bill Willingham's Elementals when I saw the thread. Shows how old I am.

    Your team looks good as is.

    Yeah, my first thought as well, that DC had bought the old Comico heroes and that the Elementals or Justice Machine might show up in some crossover with the Shazam family, Charlton heroes, Wildstorm heroes, etc.

    For an air, earth, fire, water themed elementals group, I'd want someone with more explicitly water-controlling/creating powers, and not just one of DC's fiddy-billion ice-peeps. Someone like Mera or Jackwalad or New Wave, etc.

    Same for the other elements, really. Geo-Force is a flying strong-man what can shoot lava blasts, but doesn't feel nearly as 'earth-y' as his sister Terra or one of her clones like Atlee.

    And if Mera is the water-controller, then Mera needs to be in charge, 'cause Mera is the damn queen, in multiple senses of the word.

    I thought the elementals were characters that derived power from the four elemental forces. If I recall, Swampy was an earth elemental, Firestorm fire, Red Tornado air. It was a whole thing in the 1990s.

    ^^^Same.
    Going by the link info, Undine seems to be a combined Wonder Twins w. water manipulation and animal shape shifting.

    As an update…

    …hard to beat Geo-Force in the Gnome role. I thought of using Sand, but already tapped a JSAer for a different role.

    Went w. Firehawk in the Salamander role for some nuclear based versatility on top of flames.

    JSAer Cyclone in the Sylph role. She’s a great character.

    Going w. what I said earlier, I split the Undine role between Zan and Jayna.

    Terra=Earth

    Aqualad= Water

    Lightning(she needs to be used more)= Electricity(I'm not sure, but in theory her powerset might allow her to mimic other types of energy like fire and nuclear)

    Red Tornado= Wind
