I don't see "Golden Age" there... does that mean I can appreciate the Vertigo version here?

And yes I'm aware she doesn't even qualify as a Golden Age character.

I assume all versions can be appreciated, but I for one -- did not care for the Vertigo version. I thought Gaiman's mini-series was okay (beautifully painted), but it made Black Orchid appear weaker than her Bronze Age version. I liked the original concept of her being mysterious and just showing up when needed --- like the Lone Ranger.

When she's used on a team like Justice League Dark -- she seems to just be a background character.

I'm sure my affinity for the Vertigo version comes from it being my first exposure to the character. I actually read a couple issues of the ongoing (a Swamp Thing crossover I believe?) before I knew the Gaiman mini existed.

Yeah, my excitement at her addition quickly turned to frustration when it became clear she wasn't going to actually do anything...
