Sounds cool to me. Cavill Superman sucks and was only ever used to prop up other characters, so at least now he’s being used to prop up other Superman characters.
For when my rants on the forums just aren’t enough: https://thevindicativevordan.tumblr.com/
Haha wow, I laugh because I've been in the Wonder Woman board and they'll argue up and down how Wonder Woman got the short end of the stick not performing "feats of strength" like Superman to come to someone who feels that Superman is getting screwed worse.
That said, this. Think about it, when you're fighting Superman, you're fighting the best. I'd be one thing if HARLEY were the one to put Superman down for a bit (which I'm sure they'd do given the chance) but if Superman has trouble with one of his own villains, (where some of the least dangerous of his should still be out of a good chunk of other heroes league) I have no problems with it.

This is being lifted directly from the comics by one of Superman's biggest creators. Regardless of how one feels about it, Byrne's run is a major run in the character's history, and this is a villain he created for Superman comics. This one really isn't worth the energy of making a stink over it.
DCEU Superman's execution overall sucked, but this really isn't a big insult. They also arguably overdid it with him being so much more powerful than the rest of the League in either cut of JL that we can't really say they downplay his abilities all the time in the DCEU. It doesn't make up for his dead status or where the arc was planned to go, but still.
JL ww and batman are protagonists and leaders of the JL, but apparently the one who receives the best treatment is superman, a simple extra.
If for being in the comics you have to accept it, I suppose that if they make a Nazi superman who is also a porn actor, you would also have to accept it.
For many John Byrne is one of the best superman writers, but for others he is the cause of the destruction of the superverse, he is the creator of the superfarmer and the most boring superverse of the 80 years that superman has. finally, if I remember correctly, the director came out to make fun of the near death of superman, the day of superman.
Dude, it's just comics and a comic book movie. It's not that serious. You don't like Cavil, you don't like Snyder, you don't like Byrne. I wonder who you actually like?
You got your wish. There is no more Cavilman. You can rock out to Hoechlin Supes on CW, while you await JJ's black Superman.
Take Batfleck's advice:

You first, mate.
Difference between the two of us is, I don’t get animated and feel the need to hyperbolically exaggerate the feats and performance of a fictional character in media on an Internet forum. I’m here to indulge my passion with like minded fans. Enjoying the ambience and the community vibe.
He can stop being Superman after he lays the hurt on Brainiac, Darkseid and Black Adam. Give the people what they want to see!

In fairness, there are many better options to pull from than Byrne that people can like.
I generally agree with that poster that we need to wash the stink of Snyder and Cavill away (though the latter mostly just has the misfortune of being the face of the era), but James Gunn having a throw away line referencing a Superman event that came directly from Bloodsport's comic appearance isn't a hill worth dying on.
So people are upset that the movie is being comic accurate?!?
If Supes is used to bullets just bouncing off of him his whole life, it's not surprising that he would be caught off guard by a kryptonite bullet.
