Y'know, I did remember thinking if a Goblin Queen, who's not Maddie, would ever be made, surprising it took so long.

Hopefully the writers will go with Steve Ditko's idea and make this new Goblin somebody totally new. Not Carlie Cooper. Not Liz Allen. Not Lilly. Not Glory Grant. Not Joy Mercado. Not Kate Cushing.

In the moment, I'm also remembering a few years ago when the Batgirl creative team ran into a super-controversy when a presumed-female villain turned out to have... another context. and the apparent revelation brought a groundswell of scandal. Hopefully the Spider-Man creatives won't run into the same controversy.

Ditko planning for GG to be a new character is just a rumor, it was always meant to be Norman.

ASM#27 even has a rather subtle hint about it:



His head is shaped like Norman's hairstyle.

And as I just learned, the same thing was done with JJ in ASM#19, when it wasn't revealed yet that the guy who hired Gargan is JJ, you can see that he has a flat head, like JJ's hair:
