Yeah, it happened in the second Sensational Spider-Man series (renamed from Marvel Knights Spider-Man) when the Spider-Man books tied into Civil War.

Fucking damn it, and just a few weeks ago I talked about Emily, now I didn't even consider she could be Goblin Queen, I'm jealous you thought of this before I did .

It's so impactful, that Spencer, who did a ridiculous amount of callbacks, didn't even indirectly mention her .

If it's Emily, they better explain why she has a change of heart, 'cause she specifically hated the Goblin nonsense last time... Then again, maybe the writers forgot about that detail.

Red Goblin looks a bit too much like The Harpy for my liking. It feels derivative.

I mean there's nothing Goblin-like about the new design.

It's basically like The Harpy (i.e. the Betty Banner character prominently featured in Ewing's run) crossed with maybe Kirby's Furies from the New Gods (her visor-mantle looks like Big Barda's). So it's a big minus for me in terms of design aesthetics.

And he actually referenced that story during issue 48 when Peter was remembering the people that Norman killed. On the other hand, is amazing that he didn't say something like "we'll you see the inspiaration of this whole plan started from that time that Harry's therapist became the Green Goblin" lol

Hell, another thing I noticed is that, Stanley didn't show up either, he's living with Liz, and despite Liz showing up later on the run, and even a scene with Normie and Norman happens, Stanley doesn't show up, just weird him and Emily aren't showing up...

Then again, Slott killed Kafka, even though she hadn't shown up for years by that point, and Otto didn't really care about her death, ghost Peter did... So it's a possibility that stupid **** will repeat itself, only with a way more popular character.

Funny enough, Greg Weisman did intend for Emily Osborn to have more of a role in Spectacular Spider-Man Season 3 following Norman's seeming death as the Green Goblin at the end of Season 2, at least from what I recall reading here. Alas, no Season 3 . . .
