It made sense since she was the one hero who didn't get a major solo project before JL and the ending of the 09 movie clearly sets up Cheetah as the sequel villain. I remember the director, Lauren Montgomery, always saying she wanted to do more solo female led projects but execs were only willing to green light Superman, Batman and Justice League projects. Not even the two GL movies did well enough to their liking.
What's annoying is that while the top sellers of their DTVs were Batman titles, the Wonder Woman film still eventually sold more than a lot of their other Batman DTVs. It still took them over a decade to try another one for her, and it unfortunately was neither that good nor sold well.

It might have done better if they did another one closer to the release of the first one, or timed Bloodlines to coincide with the release of her live action movie, but who knows.
