How many books are in the series and are they worth adapting as show's or movies after this?

khayman was favorite vamp...I hope they do this series justice...
I remember really liking the first one then the second one but then the vampires just kept getting more and more powerful they basically were gods. I lost interest.
The only things I remember about the Interview With A Vampire series were:
1. Interview with a Vampire was really good.
2. Queen of the Damned was really bad.
3. Ann Rice will sue your ass if you write fan fiction using her characters.
Lestat was my first introduction to the series, after that I read Interview. Both of those I liked, both about the same. Queen of the Damned I never was able to make it through, it just sucked too hard.
The movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was fine. And is a much shorter time commitment than a freaking 8-episode mini.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
All I gotta say is bring back Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, and Christian Slater
