There are a lot of books; I'm not sure 8 parts will be enough, unless they're going to do it like American horror story. Are they going to merge the vampire chronicles, and Mayfair witches like the books do?

You may have misread. They said 8 parts for Interview With the Vampire, not the entire Vampire Chronicles series.

I remember really liking the first one then the second one but then the vampires just kept getting more and more powerful they basically were gods. I lost interest.

It was a hierarchy only a few became that way and then later just one ...I applaud authors who can write beings as gods and it work many writers are too afraid to write characters that way...writing flawed characters is much easier.

The 3 first books are definitively worth adapting. After that? Well, it's not quite the same thing.

The only things I remember about the Interview With A Vampire series were:

1. Interview with a Vampire was really good.

2. Queen of the Damned was really bad.

3. Ann Rice will sue your ass if you write fan fiction using her characters.

Lestat was my first introduction to the series, after that I read Interview. Both of those I liked, both about the same. Queen of the Damned I never was able to make it through, it just sucked too hard.

The movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was fine. And is a much shorter time commitment than a freaking 8-episode mini.
