There are some advantages to a concise mini-series.

(a) First, you can tell a good, filling story in 4 issues. Some of DC's most lauded stories like Batman: Year One and The Killing Joke are rather short.

(b) You (should) get a story with a good beginning, middle, and end, and not one that is unintentionally leaving plot lines all over the place that never get picked up on. Unfortunately, dangling, ignored plot threads seem to be somewhat of a norm at DC Comics.

(c) You shouldn't see artist switches. Or, you REALLY shouldn't see that. If it happens, it's very disappointing.

(d) Event interruptions and things like that shouldn't happen.

I understand the desire for MORE content, but I think I'm more interested in the content being good. Of course, the miniseries format doesn't promise good content, but at least the chances of the stories falling prey to some of the things I like the least about DC Comics are smaller. I would actually like to see more mini-series done and less once a month ongoings for these very reasons. I think the less strenuous schedule with more time to plan and prepare and more focused approach would generally make for better quality content.

If it were to re-ignite the Shazam Family and lead to a new books, I'd prefer that.

Yeah, the thing that literally made me exclaim WTF was the blurb: "from the pages of Teen Titans" .

I can see some of what you propose. It is a bit reminiscent of Chuck Dixon's approach to getting BOP off the ground.
