    Default DC Silver Age Editorial

DC 1960-1965 was durn near schizophrenic. The Aquaman, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman read like they came from a different publisher than the Atom, Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman titles.

    Thoughts on why?

Flash, Green Lantern, Atom, and Hawkman were titles created by Julie Schwartz. He and his writers created those characters from the ground up and were able to create them with a modern, for its time, sensibility.

The other characters had been around for decades at that point and couldn't undergo such radical shifts in tone and modernization. Although, Schwartz did update Batman quite a bit beginning in 1964.

Okay. Great answer. I feel like an idiot for having asked. Mods: please euthanize this thread
