Why do we assume Wanda (Pietro, Tommy and Billy for that matter) aren't back up? if this plans was being hatched for years and the retcon that they're not mutants probably happened only a few years in universe, what's to say that a record wasn't being kept before the reveal? or even after, since we saw that clearly Magneto had conflicting feelings about it no matter what he may have said in public.

Science and tech id-ed her as a mutant for decades, it would be weirder if they didn't have a back up her.

Although, amusingly, Cerebro might not have backed her up since she stopped detecting as a mutant (perhaps because of High Evolutionary shenanigans? He hates mutants, and has tried to depower/kill all of them at least *twice* that I know of, so it wouldn't be at all out of character for him to work behind the scenes to take two of their biggest reality manipulators, Wanda and Franklin, off the board and make them 'not mutants').

So, lacking any more recent backups, a Five-resurrected Wanda would remember having always been a mutant (and Magneto's daughter), and have no memory of her brief 'not a mutant' phase!

true. if cerebro wasn't backing them up they would have noticed it years ago. plus i don't think they can take people out of the rotation, otherwise why not just do that to sabretooth or destiny. even more recently the older cable came back and they had his back up. why keep it if the kid is the one around now

I say it was a Drunken Nightcrawler that killed the Scarlet Witch,Who has no memory of what he's done.

Wow I never thought of that, what a great theory and it makes perfect sense.
Why wouldn't Wanda be effected in someway by her own spell ?.
    Brilliant thinking.
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.

The marks on Wanda’s neck don’t really speak to the theory that Wanda consented to her death.

Which is a problem if she resurrects and remembers her death

Wanda's boyfriend Doctor Voodoo can talk to the dead. Can't they just summon him and have him talk to Wanda's spirit..

That would mean acknowledging Wanda has relationships, history, and value outside being Magneto’s daughter and the Pretender. Perish the thought. WandaVision is probably the only reason Vision is finally allowed to take part in this drama instead of being conveniently forgotten.

Yeah, one of the fatal flaws of HoM is that Wanda somehow created a perfect world with Magneto in charge, and also without Vision existing.
It's like the comic telling you her wish is to be with her dad, not the family she chose.

House of M was Magneto's perfect world, not her own. She didn't get her own desires.

Wicked, a Genoshan mutant, can also speak to the dead, and would probably be a great addition to the Five, and eliminate the need for Charles at all. (Make a clone. Wicked calls up the soul of the deceased and it inhabits the clone. Done. Proteus and Hope go for ice cream, since they aren't needed at all.)

It doesn't seem like the Age of Krakoa wants to interact with the traditional MU afterlife or concepts of souls *at all* as the resurrection protocols kind of teeter on a platform of 'don't look at this very closely.'

That’s if her soul wasn’t dragged into Chthon’s realm. That’s just a theory if she doesn’t neutralize him in Darkhold

They could get Tempus to bubble back a few hours and watch what happens or call up any of the dozen or so mutants with some form of psychometry to get a read. In fact, after the brilliance of Planet Size X-Men, I am sure they can just go get the newfound person with the mutant power of 'solve murder mystery'.

Yes , excellent idea.I doubt the writers will resort to it. With Tempus we could have a definitive answer, but they probably want the 'whodunnit' drama. Black Tom and Xavier could know as well, though Xavier would probably deny knowledge if his brother-in-arms is involved. The killer must have telepathy blockers to hide themselves on an island full of telepaths.
